M (Monique) van der Meer MSc

Promovendus, PhD candidate Marketing and Consumer Behaviour

Monique is a PhD researcher in the Marketing and Consumer Behaviour group at Wageningen University and Research. After obtaining a Bachelor in Business Administration, she graduated with two Master degrees (MSc Marketing and Research Master's degree in Business Research) from the University of Groningen.

Current research: Under the supervision of dr. ir. Arnout Fischer and prof. Marleen Onwezen, her PhD research focuses on the protein transition examining consumer response towards plant-based proteins, ranging from plant-based burgers and soy drink to nuts and beans. She researches effective marketing and positioning strategies for plant-based meat and dairy alternatives in the supermarket, as part of the multidisciplinary NWO project 'Accelerating the Transition to Plant-Based Proteins'. https://www.proteintransition.nl/

Research interests: consumer behaviour, categorisation theory, sustainable consumption behaviour, plant-based proteins
